Stayaway remains extremely popular with those who attend. Last years programme at Caldecotte Project run by Action for Youth at their site near Milton Keynes was extremely successful. We are delighted to be able to offer overnight accommodation this year Tue to Thurs to allow for time to socialise and also we encourage parents and siblings to come for Fri day programme. We can offer a day-only programme for those who cannot stay overnight. Attendees at last years programme we were very tired and listening to feedback we have decided to go for a shorter day on Fri.

  • A 4 day programme from 25 - 28 Aug 2026 for up to 12 children.

  • A programme based on secondary level children coming alone for Tue to Fri starting at 1000 on 25 Aug 26. We will run a Fri programme (26 Aug) with family involvement from 1000 - 1300.

  • A fun-packed activity programme including giant swing, archery, low ropes, and the popular sailing and kayaking etc etc.

  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided Tue - Thur inc and Breakfast and Lunch on Fri.

  • Accommodation for all attendees Tue to Thur night inc. The accommodation will be shared in Yurts but we will selct carefully who shares with whom to manage sleeping patterns etc.

  • Parental and Sibling involvement on to take part in the activities on Fri is an important part of the programme and would love you to come along to experience the achievements of your child but also get a chance to socialise with other parents. Please note that at least one parent must attend the programme on Fri.

  • The cost per child is £100 per day including accommodation (this cost will be the same if no accommodation is required). Siblings and family members will be charged £25 each to cover attendance on Fri (food and activities). Food Fri is included in the price paid.

If you wish to attend please complete the form below ideally no later than 10 Jul 26.  We will then confirm your place and request you pay for the place no later than 20 Jul 26.

 

KEY INFORMATION

Location.   Caldecotte Experience, George Amey Centre, 366 Simpson Road, Simpson. Milton Keynes. MK6 3AG

Dates and Timings.  We plan to provide one programme from 25 - 28 Aug 2026.  

  • Children starting 1000 on 26 Aug 25.  We will send you any special information on checks and test etc nearer the time.

  • Overnight Accommodation provided. However day attendance is possible.

Ages.  The programme is for children and young adults starting from 12 yrs old and their siblings and parents. Please make contact if you have any doubt on suitability. Contact

Numbers.  We plan for up to 12 children.  

Costs.  All costs include activities and meals.

  • Child – around £100 per child per full day. 4 days from Tue to Fri inclusive including accommodation.

  • Parent and Sibling - a cost of £25 per parent or child to attend programme activities on Fri.

By way of example - anticipate cost of £400 for a child attending the full programme inc accommodation.

The Piers Harrington Foundation have agreed to consider applications from parents to help support some of the cost of the parental contribution if required. You can ask for an application form by e mailing: lindsharrington@hotmail.co.uk

Anyone living in Bucks can apply for support and funding through Action 4 Children (The Bucks Activity Project) and can apply to Stayaway through this programme which will be cheaper for you.

Deposit is due 10 Jul 26 and full payment will be required by 20 July 2026. 

Direct payments can be used but you need to ensure the financial provider agrees and Playaway are registered with them.

Food.  All meals and tea and coffee provided.  Cooked on site by the Centre’s chef.

Provisional Activity Programme.  A draft activity programme will be available from Jul 26 and will be published on the website. 

Nearer the time you will be asked to provide details of any objectives that you would wish the programme to focus on for your child and you will be requested to complete a child feeding/medical information form by 30 Jul 26.
